There were two friends walking together on a deserted street. This road leads to a dense forest with high mountains. They walked silently together. One of them is still young, and the other is older. After walking for a while, the young man spoke up:

- I don't like this place, it seems dangerous. But it's okay, there's nothing dangerous when we go together. We're good friends, aren't we?

The older one nodded in agreement and they continued their journey.

But at that moment, a huge and fierce bear came out of the forest. When it saw the two men, the bear roared and rushed towards them. Both of them were very scared and immediately ran away. They had no guns and the older man was too weak to fight the bear. The young man was stronger, but he was so scared that he turned and ran away. The bear chased the two men. Its sharp clawed footsteps stirred up dust.

The old friend knew he could not run faster, so it was difficult for him to escape the bear. So he quickly shouted loudly to the young man.

- Take my stick and chase it away!

But the quicker young man climbed to the top of a nearby tree. He was safe. The old friend was slower so he couldn't climb the tree. But suddenly at that moment, he remembered that people often say that bears don't touch dead people. So he lay down and pretended to be dead. He prayed that what everyone said was true because he knew that his companion would not help him at all.

The bear approached and circled the man. It sniffed his feet, arms and back. The man tried to lie still. He closed his eyes and held his breath. The bear felt something was wrong so he continued sniffing. It sniffed his hands, head and nose. Then it continued to sniff his ears.

Finally, the bear assumed the man was dead. Before leaving, it turned to look at the young man hiding in that tall tree. The old man opened his eyes and saw the bear walking away towards the forest. However, he still lay still until it really left that place.

Seeing that it was safe, the young man climbed down. From his hiding place, he saw everything and wanted to know why the bear left like that. He also saw the bear sniff his companion's ear before leaving.

- What did the bear say when it sniffed your ear? The young man asked the old man.

           The old man sat up and looked coldly at the young man.

- It says that I should not go with someone who abandoned me in times of danger! The old man replied.

So he turned away and said as he walked:

- Remember, a true friend will never abandon his friend, no matter the situation.

It's not good to abandon friends in times of trouble, let's help each other!
